We received word that the MACC has postponed the broadcast of RUIN, given the current COVID climate. Statement from the MACC:
“We deeply regret that due to spiking COVID-19 outbreak numbers and heightened regulations, we feel it would be irresponsible at this time to broadcast any content that may exemplify or promote persons being mask-less and not socially distanced. Particularly difficult is that this performance was previously recorded and adhered to all guidelines at that time with no adverse repercussions. This beautiful performance by Adaptations Dance Theater will be broadcast at a later date. Please stay safe, wear your mask, remain socially distanced and stay tuned!”
ADT is proud to be a part of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s “Live @ the MACC” series, and we look forward to when our performance will be rescheduled for broadcast!
ADT reprised Hallie Hunt’s RUIN, commissioned for 2019’s Bring it Home dance concert. The work was created in response to climate change and human’s implicit role in the continued destruction of our planet and disregard for the younger generation that will be left with the consequences of our actions. The work explores animals dealing with the diminishment of their habitats, set against the wild whims, excess, and flailing chaos of human behavior.
See this piece reset on a new cast of ADT dancers and filmed on the Castle Theater stage!

Choreographer's Note:
Animals dealing with the diminishment of their habitats, set against the wild whims, excess, and flailing chaos of human behavior. Thank you to all of the performers for their vast contributions to this work.

When I return will it be the same?
Will I be the same?
Will anything ever be quite the same again?
If I return.
